Adult Individuals in Central Stroud
I offer short and long-term, face to face counselling to individuals from my private practice in central Stroud.
My approach to counselling is integrative. This means that I draw on several theoretical sources, humanistic to transpersonal. Put simply, this means valuing who you are as an individual, an opportunity to look at patterns from your past, encouraging a wider sense of meaning.
What I see as most important is that I provide a confidential place and an attentive listening; where you are able to bring your concerns, give voice to your feelings and your heart's calling.

I also draw from my experience and three year training in Somatic Experiencing (SE®) as developed by Peter Levine. In counselling, it can help bring more awareness to feelings held in the body particularly when expressing them in words is difficult.
My continuing professional development helps me to include a life long interest in the depth psychology of C G Jung and others who have deeper perspectives of the psyche. I believe in the value of bringing a wider sense of meaning. Whereas other theories might help make sense of the past, soulful/Jungian ideas offer possibilities for making sense of the future, or life as a whole.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I follow their code of ethics and also am currently in training as a psychotherapist in London at Re-vision (counselling and psychotherapy with a soulful perspective).
